seriously. everybody wins. you will get fans who come to visit the region again, but you give them the opportunity to explore a new story and meet new characters. heck, you can even meet returning characters a couple of years into the future. they already did this with bw2!!! i want to meet lillie while she is travelling in kanto! i want to see what happened to silver!!! i want to know if hau ever became island kahuna! I WANT TO SEE HOW ARCHIE, MAXIE, GUZMA, N, ETC (aka the “redeemable” villains) ARE DOING heck, even meeting again some of the background characters like gym leaders, after some years have passed, and maybe they are adults or old people now, or even have families (imagine if, after byron retires, roark’s child becomes a new gym leader and continues the family tradition).
or we can go even further and think about the potential of prequels as well. i would lose my shit if you get to play a game in sinnoh and cyrus, as a child, is your rival while cynthia is your best friend. why not even tie in with the anime? giovanni’s mother is supposed to be the founder of team rocket DONT YOU WANNA FIGHT A SCARY MOBSTER LADY???? i want to meet professor juniper when she was an assistant and getting her degree!!!! i want to visit hoenn when it was less developed and technologically advanced!!!! BINCH!!!
